THE END...FOR NOW!

So, I think this blog has served it's purpose. I know I have a half a pound to go to get to my goal...but I really see no reason to keep updating here for the sake of updating. I will of course keep up with www.averieandbaylor.blogspot.com because obviously it is the kids' blog. But I really can keep posting in their side bar section my info. So, that is what I am going to do! So, for more updates, check out the sidebar on Life According to Averie and Baylor! I will resume this blog when I once again need to lose weight (hopefully after the next baking baby website)! Until then! :o)

MEASUREMENTS

Weight: 136!!!! (only one pound to go -20lbs. total)

So, obviously I am totally happy with the weight!!! I really couldn't tell if I was going to make it or not until late Saturday evening when I weighed in at 136.5 after eating a pretty big dinner! At that moment I felt pretty sure. But seriously, I didn't have the greatest week of eating. Honestly, I had two frozen cokes, ice cream from Honey Bear one evening, a Tim Horton's Ice Cap & bagel and cream cheese and a piece of cake. All of that and normal meals this week. So, I don't know. I guess my workouts (which were just ok) made up for the junk! I am happy! Now I can honestly say I've lost 20 lbs! That feels great. Only one lb. to go to get to the goal, a goal that is pretty much if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, that's okay too! YEA! I just need to keep up the motivation of working out...will get even easier once swimming is done for Averie. That is taking up a large chunk in the middle of the day. OK-time to update the Averie and Baylor's blog.

So, the past few days of working out have only been ok. I haven't been pushing myself or even feeling the urge to work. I take that back, I do want to work out, I just can't get the motivation to make myself do it. I am going to start working out in the am again next week. I like doing that because I don't have to wonder when I am going to get my workout in. It is just hard to organize that with the many other things I do in the am! I will figure it out though...I will get the motivation back this week. My eating has been fine. Not spectacular by any means, but not pigging out on junk either. Really not much junk at all. I've felt more hungry than normal this week, but have been having cereal and graham crackers and bananas. All of which I would say aren't bad choices. So...I am a little disappointed in only a half pound drop, but from like Wednesday through Saturday I was up and down between 135.5 and 137.5. So, Saturday I was 136.5 and then Sunday again 137.5... so, I do think the plateau is done but I am still fluctuating like any normal person does. So, with a strong week of working out this coming week, I am GOING to be to 136. Hopefully. My only problem could be if I get mastitis. I have a clogged duct and it is huge and painful. And I have felt extremely drained today. I even took a 15 minute nap, and I never do that. So, I may call the Dr. tomorrow and get a rx just in case. I am a little achy too, but worked on the garden yesterday for an hour and that was hard work. Please hope that I don't get it!

RAINY DAY

It is so wet and nasty and rainy today. Jett's back today, we have swimming and I am feeling lazy! So, other than swimming, we'll be staying indoors and relaxing! I have felt fine about eating so far this week... I had dessert this weekend which I was afraid it was going to make me crave more again but I have been fine! I limited it to 5 bites and that was that. On Monday I did have a little sundae, but it was in one of Averie's bowls and it was like 1 scoop of vanilla. And it had bananas and a hand full of peanuts...so I suppose that I didn't need it but, well it is said and done. And that is it. And I haven't been craving anything sweet since. I have been feeling hungry more in the evenings but have been having cereal or a fat free pudding or graham crackers or something like that. Ok well I need to update Averie's and Baylor's blog now! Later! I have also been down 1 lb. every morning since my weigh in...so cross your fingers people! I will also be doing one of my new videos later today too!

So, overall not a bad week at all. I did good with eating (not great, but good!). And working out, I really pushed myself quite a bit...so, I really think eventually those last three pounds will go, I think I (I hope at least) am just building muscle now and getting stronger, so it isn't melting off like it was. And honestly I am totally fine where I am. I wouldn't mind being able to say I lost 20lbs. b/c it sounds great, but I am content! I just need to keep the motivation to work out and I will be fine! :o) That's about it! I have two new workout videos that I will be using frequently...I really like the Jillian Michaels one...it is a butt kicker!!!

JUST AN UPDATE

So, things have been going good this week. I am back to the beginning...eating really well, cutting out all sweets. I needed to rid my body of all the cravings again like I did in the beginning. It is working b/c I am able to say no to them now, where a few days ago I was ravishing for them. So, slowly I should be on my way to losing my last three pounds. Actually the last two days I weighed in (as you know I do every day), I was down to 137. So, with any luck this weekend when I weigh in I should hopefully be able to maintain that. I am hungry for something sweet now, but I don't have what I really want which is a graham cracker (or 2) and milk. So, even though I am craving something sweet a graham cracker would actually do! That is good! I know if you go long enough without sweets you don't crave them anymore. That is what I strive to accomplish again! Well, as for the measurements, they were fine with me. I can't keep going down everywhere forever, so I just want to keep up with the same or a tad less and that is fine. My arms look good, I can't believe I've managed to really tone them and make them not look flabby! And boy do my buns hurt today! I did lunges (I've never done those before) with 8lbs in each hand and did 50 total which didn't seem like a lot, but woe baby...I am sore. So I did more today. But I won't do any tomorrow for sure. I have also gone back to working out early. That has worked wonders for getting the workout done. I do eventually want to go back up to the bike 30 minutes, but I am going to take my time on that. I don't know why but doing my muscle toning and stuff first, followed (I used to do it the other way around) by the cardio makes me very nauseous by the end...so I have been stopping the bike when I feel done...and not pushing my self too too far. I know a little pushing is good. But Monday after everything, I felt gross, like I could have gotten sick in the shower. So, baby steps up to 30 minutes on the bike. OK, well, I think I've updated everything! More later. I need to gather some energy to clean and organize and mail some stuff--now that all 3 of the children are asleep! :o)

BAD GIRL

I was bad...I didn't do my measurements at all this weekend, and now it's Monday afternoon and I don't feel like it. Ok, I will do them right now. I forgot the tape measure is in the cupboard. It is usually downstairs where Matt is sawing and being messy. Hold on....

It seriously has been fluctuating between 136.5 and 137.5 for the last 4 days.

Well, better than I expected. Last week was a struggle. I just felt like doing many other thing besides working out. I am usually working out every free minute. I was just doing organizing and other misc. things. I am back on track this week though. I still must work out today, but I did great last night working out and it felt great. The weight is still fluctuating too. I was 137.5 a lot last week (I weight myself every morning and sometimes during the day too). But it would fluctuate down to 136.5. So, I am on my way to my new goal. I bought my first (that I can remember) size 6 shorts last week. I actually purchased, tried on (and took them home to wear) the 8's and wore them a little at home and decided I better try the 6's. What a surprise. They fit like a glove. Not too tight, but not saggy butt, like the 8's were. I will be going back to Old Navy to get some more soon! Okay, so that's all for now. I am really hungry all of the sudden. I am off to find some graham crackers, or maybe hommus and a pita.

I want to lose the last 3 lbs. before Easter! :o) That is doable I think!

I guess the measurements I gained last week, I lost again this week. I guess that is good? I had a rough week of eating. I am back on track now. I want to hit my new goal by Easter. That is about 1.5 lbs. or less to lose each week until then. So, I think I can do it! I will just keep up the will power and keep working out!!!!!!

NEW GOAL

It will be especially hard to obtain my new goal weight when there are cookies in my house, MiMi. Oh well, they are gone now. I finished the last two today. That means more pilates for me tonight. At least I have been working out still. It is just so hard not to do to much on my shoulder. It was feeling better, than all of the sudden I did too much and now it is sore again. Well, that was earlier in the week. I babied it last night during the shoulder workout in pilates. I was given strict instructions by my trainer (Matt) not to exercise it for two weeks. That is really cramping my style. Anyways, off to play in Averie's room. :o)

NO TITLE

I always hate coming up with titles for my ramblings. So this one doesn't have a title! So, today was the 4th day with Jett coming here. Things are going pretty smooth actually. We have them (Jett's mama and I) on great routines. All the kids mesh really well! Plus with Matt's schedule he is here a couple of mornings during the week and that is nice. So, my babes just went down for their naps and will most likely sleep for the next 2 hours! Nice! I have a couple of months to work on for Averie's scrapbook and I need a snack and need to watch my soap opera (Jett was picked up early today). Sounds like relaxation to me! I just need to do 25 push-ups and I'll be set with my workout (not sure I should though, one of my shoulders feels really sore, like I pulled something, and I did do a new exercise yesterday...hmmm) I need to get back into abs, but the ball is dusty from my husband cutting wood down there. I have yet to wipe it down. Maybe I'll do that later today too. I also think we'll be venturing out to Target later. We need dog food. And Target sounds like fun! So, more updates to come. OH yea, and the last two mornings my scale has said 140. I don't believe it...

No major changes...that's okay! It was a pretty big week of splurging! I will be okay if I don't lose much more really (in inches)...I just want to tone and get stronger! I will hopefully get my workouts in this week. They may be happening in the evening, not sure. This is Jett's first full week, so I need to be on my toes for the babies! I can always do quick stuff upstairs while they are sleeping though. Or even take Averie down with me during the boys' naps...we'll see!

I hope to lose those last two pounds by Easter! That is my goal! I imagine things will stop or slow down even more. I am not really sure. I can't imagine the scale saying anything in the 130's although that would be wonderful! :o) I haven't decided if I want to change my goal yet or not. I am going to wait and see if I can maintain 142 this week and go from there. :o) I hope all your weekends are going well!

UPDATE

So, I was a little grumpy last night! I managed to get myself together and cook Matt's dinner, clean the kitchen and house, finish the laundry all within a reasonable amount of time! I didn't scrapbook or workout but I will be working out at least cardio today! I need to get my grocery shopping list together and do a few chores around the house, but the kids should both be napping at the same time after lunch! I did my measurements this morning instead of Monday (and will be doing that from now on) but don't have them here (at my mom's after church). I will post those later along with some 5 month Baylor pics! LATER.

WEEKEND

So far the weekend has been pretty mellow. We went to the mall today with Annie and returned a library video for Matt and had my Uncle over to check out the furnace. I feel totally disorganized right now, which I hate that feeling. I need to: cook dinner, clean up the house, pack for church tomorrow, fold three loads of laundry, clean up the kitchen from Averie's dinner; however, I want to scrapbook and workout. And it is 8:30pm. Matt will be home in one hour...what to do...maybe I'll do nothing. I kinda feel like doing that too. haha, well on an high note-I went to the mall today and bought a pair of size 8 GAP jeans. They look pretty darn good and they fit perfectly! I am so excited. I couldn't find a shirt though. I need a new shirt still, I might get an evening this week to do that. Well, I better go do something productive. :oP

CHOCOLATE BIRTHDAY CAKE!


Yum, yum, yum! I had the best birthday dinner ever! A BBQ burger from Max & Erma's and their chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream. So awesome. And even better, I was down one pound this morning. 142. I am sure that is a fluke...but I'll take it as a birthday present to myself. This weekend I am on a mission to buy myself a new outfit! One that fits and doesn't fall off my booty! I worked out extra hard yesterday to allow for the birthday splurge! It was worth it 100%! Off to the Dr. today to check out my cough and phlegm issues. It seems like it is slowly getting better...so we'll see! More updates later! :o) Happy March! That means spring is just around the corner!

I was absolutely famished this morning and had a big breakfast, of which included a dough nut, eggs, bacon and coffee. Hey, I've always said if I am hungry, I am going to eat! And that's the truth. But I suppose I could have done without the dough nut. It was good, but not that good. A little old actually. OH well! I will workout hard today! Anyways, weights and measurements to come! :o)

YUMMY

Just wanted to say that I made (Averie and I) Matt the best chocolate chip cookies ever for Valentine's Day and have only had 1 full cookie and a few bites of one I shared with Averie! Normally I would have had 10 or more within the last two days. That shows how much I've changed my habits. I only even thought about them once today while I was cooking dinner and was pretty hungry. I love my will power!!!!! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I am so happy with everything so far! I just wish the arm would go down. Well, I don't really even care about that, I just want to tone my arm so it isn't flapping in the wind this spring and summer in sleeveless shirts when I wave. I will have to come up with some better exercises for my arms. I'll work on that this week! :o) Other than that, I am pleased. I need to workout hard today. Monday is always the hardest day especially if I haven't worked out over the weekend. I wanted to Saturday and Sunday but just couldn't and didn't have the time! Oh well...

LATELY

Lately thing have been going pretty well! I must say that I am quite proud of myself for keeping up with working out! I don't even usually have to push myself to do it. As soon as the kids go down for their afternoon naps, I get going down there. I only make myself workout for half an hour...so it does not drag on. And if I make it down there during my soap opera it is especially good because with the amount of commercials and stuff I am pretty entertained! I will probably not be working out until Monday now because Averie is sick. She got sick after dinner last night, in her sleep last night and this morning. Hopefully she'll be good early next week, we might have to postpone our Valentine's Day fun...

I have also been eating well, staying away from junk and keeping my portions down. I haven't been as strict on my portions (I think I am just used to it), but have been using side plates instead of big plates and only taking a little bit of food at first since I usually fill up faster than I think and if it is on my plate I am more likely to eat it. So if I am still hungry, I can get more, but if I fill up faster than I think I don't keep eating just to clean the plate! It is mind over matter! Well, I want to balance the checkbook before the little ones wake up. More later!

WORKOUT CENTRAL

A little different view. The tv is a must have while riding the bike! That way I don't stare at the amount of time I have been biking! Lately I've been riding like 9 minutes before I even look at the time! That's like one segment and two commercials from my soap opera! :o)

The relaxation area. It is mostly just for looking at because I don't really relax down there. We also don't eat down there. That other table is for scrapbooking once I get back into the flow of that! Recognize the chairs or coffee table, MiMi? They are in good hands!! We will also be curtaining off all of the storage in the back corner. That is on a project list to be done soon.

So, everything looks good to me. I actually measured myself this time, so I will have to see if I can remember from week to week. The thigh surprised me, I measured it a couple of times to make sure I was right...I measured the largest part and it was still down, so I guess finally the bike is working for those legs! I haven't done any other leg exercises yet...I may eventually. So, anyways, I am happy with the measurements!

Yesterday I weighed myself in the morning (as I do every morning) and I was down to 147.5. I have never been that weight on my scale ever (I've had the scale for almost 4 years)! So, that was exciting! And I did do pretty bad with eating dinner last night. I haven't eaten so much that I was stuffed in a month so I felt pretty uncomfortable all night. Then sometime in the middle of the night I was in the bathroom (not to gross you all out) not doing so well. But I'm okay now! I guess my system isn't used to the overeating anymore. Which is great! I won't be over eating like that for a while!

PHASE 2...THE WALL


Now the half wall is down! That was Thursday's project for Matt and my dad. They did that while my mom, the kids and I went shopping. We then met for lunch!


The room seems so large. I can't wait to put the table in place and of course the floors! More updates to come soon.

So, I am not sure if these are really accurate...my husband measured me both times, but said he couldn't remember how tight he pulled the tape each time and where he put the tape each time...so, I think I'll start over and do it myself later on, or tomorrow morning. You kinda have to put the tape in the same spot to get an accurate reading... :o) Good effort on his part, thanks for trying honey! At least the weight is down again! Yippie!

FOOD AND FLOORS!

So, things are looking good here! After the last post things were fine, I was right about the fluctuation, it has been back down and up and down again all weekend! So, anyways, the weekend has been pretty uneventful. Eating on Saturday was a little worse than I would have liked...I had a bigger than usual breakfast (2 egg veggie omelet, wheat toast), but I tried to make it up by ordering a grilled chicken oriental salad from Applebee's for lunch, but forgot to get the dressing on the side. So, I made it my lunch and dinner yesterday. That was ok. Today, I had low sugar oatmeal and my frappuccino for breakfast. My mom's yummy spanish rice and a salad for lunch, oh and chocolate pudding pie for dessert (made with sugar free pudding and lite cool whip just for me-thanks mom!). I had a small glass of milk and a few graham crackers for a snack so I wasn't really hungry for dinner I did have some rice cakes and cottage cheese and pineapple just a bit ago. I am a little hungry now, but can't really see a reason to eat much now at 9pm. I may have a glass of milk or bowl of cereal...not sure yet. I just remembered that I have a half of banana to finish from Averie's breakfast. Yummm, good stuff! Now I will have that glass of milk, in just a bit. So, all in all, I am really adjusting to my new habits. It is getting easier and easier now, day by day. It is kinda strange that I used to eat every day like all day long. Like my reason for eating was just to eat and put stuff in my mouth, and now my reason for eating is because I am hungry...and want to eat healthy. I am glad I have stuck with it. I hope that my exercise and this new way of eating pays off slowly but steadily!

So exciting news, on Saturday(as mentioned in the title of the post), we drove up to a Lumber Liquidators store an hour and a half away, and purchased our hardwood floors!!! I am so stinking excited. I have been waiting for this for a year now. And you all know how much I love the plaid carpet we have and have had for a year. I will cry when it is gone (HUGE exaggeration...I might cry tears of joy)! Below in pic 1 is the floor color we purchased! We chose a little bit wider plank, but not the widest! So, it should be arriving on Thursday and the carpet should be coming out soon. The lovely bar is gone and the half wall will be gone Thursday...so after a long several months of no progress (regarding home projects) we are on a roll again! Yea! See the lovely pics below!

So, a little disappointed this morning. I weight myself every morning and today it was up 2 lbs. I am sure it just normal fluctuation but a little annoying. Not so discouraging that I won't keep going. I am also sore today from working out! I do like that though! I will keep plugging on...

STILL HERE!

So, I am still on the wagon! I have been doing great these days! I have worked out two days in a row...yesterday and today and have been eating so well! Yesterday was a very hard day, I was actually hungry a lot. Like my body was testing my will power. So, I ate when I was hungry, but healthy stuff...rice cakes (cheddar cheese ones), V8 (which Averie drank half of), a banana, apple, graham crackers. Those are the kinds of snacks I have been having. I just ate a banana and peanut butter now. I am about to go have a glass of milk (but today was much less testing)! Today I was all set to have a piece of peanut butter pie at the restaurant up town (my Grandma, parents and the kids went) because it is my favorite...I was going to have half there and take half home for Matt (or me later). But this was the first time I could remember them not having that flavor. They had peach, coconut and banana. I like all of those kinds, but they wouldn't have been worth it! So, I had my chef salad with lite dressing and was perfectly content. It was like a sign or something. So, my workouts have been pretty good, a little challenging. I am not quite in shape. I rode 2.65 miles on the bike both days (10 minutes worth), did squats and abs on the ball (not too many abs yet, I am extremely weak in that region), the bench press, triceps extensions, lat pull downs and leg lifts. I am not sure if I am doing the triceps or lats or biceps, but two of those...I need Matt to show me more exercises when he has time. But the workout usually takes a half an hour or so. And I watch/listen to tv at the same time. It is going good. I actually looked forward to it today! Hopefully I will keep it up. I plan to work out 5 days a week. No weekends unless I skip a weekday. So, that's my plan, I'll keep you all posted!!!!!

Ok, so....alert the media...I am down to my pre-baby body weight!!!!!!!!!!!! Not shape by any means, but weight! And actually down a half lb. more than the ticker says (it won't do half lbs.) but who is counting, he he! And I felt a little guilty about my weekend...nothing horrible like you're probably thinking, I still am going strong! We had pizza over the weekend, which I was a little hesitant to have, but like I've said all along, I am not going to ever cut out anything completely. I will just be smart about my choices!!!! I had one slice of pizza, one small bread stick and one apple roll up (yea, those were the guilty pleasure this weekend!!). I had one and then since Matt worked til 9pm, my parents left the other THREE in the box in my fridge. I knew I'd eventually crack and have another one. But at least I only had two total. That was it, my weakness of the weekend! Not too bad. I felt bad about eating it after I did it especially since it was like 10pm at night...but that's okay! I didn't make any other bad choices the rest of the weekend! And it is becoming visible! And the exercise bike that my parents are giving me arrived Saturday, it is in the garage...Matt only works til 2pm today so it'll be downstairs tonight! Then I can actually work out while eating healthy! I am looking forward to that!

Still Going Strong

I have been doing so well with eating. I just had a carrot and it tasted nasty, but that won't discourage me at all. I have been having sweets as necessary, but not since Sunday (dad's b-day cake). I also only had a small piece and shared it with Averie. I am also not cutting out what I love I am just only having so much of it. I think I am doing really well. Yesterday's lunch, Wendy's...a grilled chicken sandwich with light ranch dressing a a caesar side salad with light rance dressing. And I have been doing smaller portions. I only had a third of my meatball sub last night because I was full. I didn't eat it all just because it was there (which I used to do all of the time) . But yet, when I am still hungry, I will have more. So, all-in-all, I am just being smart about my choices, not banning anything as a possibility, and making my portions smaller. So far, so good!

I AM TIRED

So, last night for dinner we went to Texas Roadhouse...I did okay. I had a salad with only a tad of dressing and a sweet potato...with a little butter and brown sugar. I also had ribs which I shared with Averie (only a half rack between the two of us). And a couple of the rolls with cinnamon butter for dessert. I feel okay about my decisions for dinner. Today went well also...chicken soft taco-lunch...fish-dinner(the healthy kind)...potatoes...milk. I just now had lowfat cottage cheese and lite peaches. I think now I am going to have a glass of milk. Well...I hope to have a good weekend!

LUNCH

I managed to have a tuna pita with lettuce, a little cheese and a tad of honey mustard...which didn't do anything for me...I should have not bothered with it. I also had a scoop of lowfat cottage cheese. I had made a salad, but only ate the croutons and saved the rest. I also had a tall glass of milk. I am bored now, and want to find a snack. But am still pretty full from lunch. I need to get Baylor now, he is calling me. He also had an awesome nap. I will reward him with a boob.

This is my attempt to record the good, bad and ugly foods I eat while trying to lose 15 pounds. I want to get to a health weight the right way...by avoiding mcdonalds and other foods that I love to eat. I think I can do it...but need a place to go when I am craving something less than healthy. And some place where other people will eventually read and make me own up to any mistakes I make!

I started out the day drinking a starbucks frappuccino. YUM, my favorite and my weakness. I also just made tuna (with miracle whip light and a little sweet relish) for lunch and I will have it in a wheat pita. With some lettuce and a 100 calorie pack doritos and water or milk. I hear milk is a good way to fill up before eating...so you don't over eat. More updates to come. :o)
